Interesting.. couldn't quite make this out but it looks like in 2020 Vermont was getting 80 ish percent of its heating from fossil fuels.https://www.eia.gov/consumption/residential/data/2020/state/pdf/State%20Space%20Heating%20Fuels.pdf

If Vermont sues companies to get money, companies may raise their prices to cover it, which might lead to Vermonters freezing, or shifting to available, probably cheaper, but particulate-concerning wood. It seems like perhaps legal folks should consider second and third order effects of their ideas on ordinary people in the State. Or maybe have an open discussion of trade-offs with citizens before engaging in likely expensive litigation?

So Vermont shuts down Yankee Nuclear, thereby increasing CO2 emissions but subsequently brings an action against companies producing and selling fossil fuel products that the state of Vermont and its consumers continue to purchase and use. File this in the shocking but not surprising folder.
