As an initial step to getting nuclear right, could we persuade whoever is elected as President to pronounce it as "new-clear" rather than "new-cue-lar".
The Atomic Energy Act of 1946 created the Atomic Energy Commission. Dwight Eisenhower gave a speech to UN about Atoms for Peace, and promised that USA would help other countries develop nuclear power stations. To do that, he had to simplify and streamline AEC regulations which, as regulations do, had become enormous and opaque. The Rockefeller Brothers Foundation leapt into action and cited Hermann Muller's discredited Linear No Threshold theory of the relationship between radiation exposure and the risk of heritable phenotype changes (Muller knew it was a fraud even as he was delivering his Nobel Prize acceptance speech). Realizing that balloon was about to pop, George Beadle and Ed Lewis leapt into action and (incompetently or fraudulently) analyzed Hiroshima and Nagasaki victims data and concluded there was a Linear No Threshold relationship between radiation exposure and risk of cancer. James Neel and William Schull had already proved, using those same data, that that conjecture is false too. But coming from Caltech it was extremely valuable to get Linus Pauling a Nobel Peace Prize. We're still stuck on LNT, and prestigious journals such as Science refuse to withdraw the provably fraudulent papers.
Any President who tries to streamline NRC will get fierce pushback from the enormous crowds of entrenched bureaucrats and useful idiots funded and brainwashed by other useful idiots. Trump has more of a chance of forcing something through. Harris is completely clueless concerning any aspect of executive skill or talent.
Details and more in my book "Where Will We Get Our Energy?" A comprehensive end-to-end life-cycle system-engineering analysis of the entire energy landscape. Everything quantified. No vague handwaving. 350 bibliographic citations so you can verify I didn't just make up stuff.
No doubt about it. The Rockefeller crime syndicate (amongst others) were behind the suppression of Nuclear energy. Two videos document their many crimes against humanity:

Note, it was the CFR which took a college dropout, a complete nobody and promoted him as an "Energy Expert", with his infamous claim: " Complex technology of any sort is an assault on human dignity. To SmithFS -- just checked the Net - and in 2022 - the E-Cat "something" was seen on utube powering an LED lightbulb. That's great - and Mr. Rossi should be congratulated.
And dummy - I never said or intimated that the E-Cat didn't work.
Your the only one that has made that accusation - not Mr. Rossi.
FYI dummy -- on Sep. 10th. 1984 -- Northwest Laboratories of Seattle WA Inc . (est. 1896) - tested an earlier version of the POD MOD technology - at 293% continuously powering a 120 VAC / 60 Hz / AC motor.
On Sept. 8th. 1992 / US Patent 5,146,395 / A POWER SUPPLY INCLUDING TWO TANK CIRCUITS / with "regenerative feedback" / all 16 claims / with no changes or redactions requested / was granted in full / a little over 1 year from it's application date.
It is the first "over-unity" (although unclaimed) US Patent granted - starting a new section - and several have been awarded since.
"Over-unity" was specifically not claimed - because it was well known - after the Joe Newman debacle - that either the US/DOE or US/DOD would have the application rejected.
The Patent was granted - because every argument against it was invalidated by over 16 pounds of supplied documented validating text - from accredited college level textbooks and other accredited documentation -- plus a working demonstration was supplied to the Patent Office and then returned.
You got this dummy -- I'm not saying that Mr. Rossi's system doesn't work.
I'm saying that you don't know a damned thing about the POD MOD technology - and must have some kind of axe to grind about something.
Just take it elsewhere - because your just showing that you are an uneducated / complete fool.
You are way, way behind the times. Read it and weep:
"....Leonardo Corporation introduced the NGU Power Cell at a public demonstration on September 27th, 2024 at Latina Italy where an E-Cat-powered electric vehicle with a normal range of 75 km on a single charge, drove for over 6 hours for a distance of 201 km. During this time the state of charge of the battery increased from 62 per cent to 83 per cent. Video of this event can be seen at https://youtube.com/@ecatthenewfire ..."
You can't compete with the E-Cat powered by real world Zero Point Energy vs your fantasy world resonant electric fields. Admit it, you're beaten.
There is nothing worse than a gas-bag - that knows nothing about electricity or how it is developed.
The Rossi -E Cat didn't have a technical revue on it's patent -- the POD MOD did.
The E-Cat has to have an external power source - thected POD MOD does not.
It produces heat - dummy.
That would be used to produce steam - which would power a turbine - which would power an AC generator -- just like any other heat sourced power plants.
What was the voltage produced?
What was the amperage produced?
Is it solid-state / 2.5 cu. ft. / 30 lb. / less that $2000 / modular / "stand-alone" -has it's own on-board "start-up" power source / can multiples of it be connected together to produce a higher output power level -- just like batteries?
Can it be installed:
--- "at" any "stationary" site or "movable" vehicle;
--- continuously "electronically develop all of the clean electricity required "for" that site or vehicle;
--- for as long as is required "by" that site or vehicle?
These are proven / documented / openly available / discussed and available facts -- not conjecture, not private secrets.
Electricity -- "is" the movement of voltage-influenced valence electrons in the four conductive elemental materials - Gold, Silver, Copper, and Aluminum.
The electron movement in those elements - results in heat being given off / light (photons being ejected from "filament material" (like tungsten) connected to the conductive element / or the magnetic fields developed in motors and generators from that conductive material which is what the POD MOD causes to be developed -- which we pay for.
If-- your Rossi -E- Cat can not accomplish all of the above -- which the POD MOD does -- go blow it out a certain orifice.
To SmithSF -- why do you keep makin comments like this - when you know nothing about the POD MOD? Do it make you feel good? Or are you just a miserable little twit that has to throw a tantrum?
What's going to be hilarious to watch is all of these whizz-bang nukes - if they ever get built - just sitting because no one will need to buy their power.
Try $0.50 per hour per 1.15 MW (5 x .2304 MW) which is what the POD MOD is designed to produce -- at 480 VDC or VAC / 480 Amps per unit.
No power grid / no step-up - stepdown substations -- because the POD MODs will be "at each site as needed.
It is not illegal for any premises owner to install an "emergency power source" anywhere in the US, and there is no law or regulation that states that a private premises owner "is required to only use" that electricity made available by a connected power utility.
Your MOD POD doesn't stand a chance. Rossi got his E-Cat installed in an EV and it recharges itself while driving. Makes your MOD POD look like a piece of garbage. Give it up, and put in a job application with Rossi.
Can sbdy explain to me how this new pro-nuclear movement makes economic sense?
New reactors will provide reliable carbon-free electricity for 50-150$/MWh depending on who is asked, but only if the offtaker is willing to guarantee this price point for at least 2-3 decades - often longer.
Solar and wind energy have come down by 95% within two decades and produce electricity for 20-30$/MWh anlready today - and the prices for solar and wind keep falling fast.
Obviously solar and wind are no base loads, but batteries and other storages (compressed air) are also coming down in their prices at even faster rates than solar and wind do.
Whoever signs a contract to off take nuclear power at prices that allow to pay back the necessary loan, essentially bets against all current trends, that solar+storage or wind+storage will not fall to a price level of less than the 50-150$/MWh for the next 2-4 decades!
Complexity of a technology defines its technology learning rate. Solar modules are essentially laminates and batteries are also stacks of always the same. Nuclear reactors that fulfil modern safety regulations (even if reduced somewhat) can therefor principally not reach comparable technology learning rates and ever come down to solar or wind price levels. Storage seems to inevitable outrun nuclear (SMRs and others) as well.
Am I missing sth crucial? I do understand that the logic can be different for the military (eg nuclear vessels, production of material for nuclear bombs) but other than that ??
"....n their latest, highly cited Levelized Cost of Energy report, the investment bank Lazard acknowledges the rising cost of renewables. According to their numbers, solar’s average LCOE rose nearly 60% between 2021 and 2023, wiping out eight years of improvement. The high end of their solar range surged by an incredible 135% over the same period. For wind, the average cost rose 32%, with the high-end of the range advancing 50%, again wiping out eight years of improvement. Despite the unexpected cost increase, the pundits continue to get it wrong. In their recent report, Lazard sensitizes various forms of energy across a 25% fuel price adjustment; however, the analysis seems to capture only direct fuel usage. Gas, nuclear, and coal all increase, but solar and wind costs remain fixed. This is simply incorrect. As we have seen over the last two years, renewable costs are disproportionally impacted when energy prices rise due to their relatively inferior energy efficiency. Although they do not directly consume fuel, renewable energy consumes considerable “embedded” energy in all the steel, cement, and copper required..."
